Hi, I'm Louise Pickford, food writer, stylist and cookbook author. I live in France because I have discovered a country that celebrates food perhaps more than any other country on the planet. The food may be simple, but there is an honesty and integrity here that I love. The ingredients are wonderful, the seasons varied, the foraging vociferous. Food is for sharing, I am passionate about this and about sharing my knowledge with others.
ABOUT THE CHARENTE
Sitting snugly between the Charente Maritime coastline, with it's amazing seafood and the Dordogne where truffles and foie gras rule, the Charente remains a little known but none the less stunning area. It is blessed with boutique producers and amazing local ingredients and a charm all of it's own.
With access to great markets and locally grown produce this region is the perfect place for a cookery school. There are plenty of travel links so getting to us is easy (see contact details). The climate is good, short wet winters, long hot summers.
